have an empty Mobo, have been wondering when the next gen of amd cpu's are due out?

this will prob. be my last amd build as the last bunch of chips were "very disappointing."

what say Mpc? rumors?

Good timing! They just posted this preview of the AMD Trinity procs on Tom's

I believe he's referring to the new AM3+ processors due out "soon" i.e. FX 8350

I wouldn't hold my breath since my normal source isn't commenting, so take it with a grain of sand... but I'm hearing 2 dates from less reliable sources, October 17th or October 24th.

I've found a few problems with some of these benchmarks, especially on Tom's. They're comparing the Trinities with the Llanos. Llano is based off the Phenom II architecture, Trinity is two generations ahead.

So instead I found the closest thing you could compare the A10 to pit Piledriver against Bulldozer: AMD FX-4100. You can find a review with processor scores at http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1766/1/ , although most of the tests may be moot, considering the benchmarks arent' all the same.

But anyway, go find benchmark scores for the FX-4100. That'll give you a generational comparison.

i am using the fx4100 as my server comp, it isnt good for much else, does have good encryption speed and most of my hdd's are encrypted

hope the new batch are worthy of consideration, as it is amd3+ mobo are being dumped IMHO, with not much new development in sight
