 Post subject: SSD AHCI does not seem to want to work please help

I enabled ahci in bios... i enabled it by using the toms hardware pasted reg file.. i enabled it by downloading drivers... but when i go to device manager i dont see a single thing about ahci... here is what i see.

Mine just shows up as a sata controller....I'm not sure what you're getting worked up over.

its not that it just does not show up.. when i log into windows.. it takes like 20 seconds to go from password input to desktop off a clean install.. that does not sound like sata 3 ssd speed to me.. i must be doing something wrong.

I have that too, don't worry. However, the last item on my list is the chipset controller, which I don't see on there.

I feel like a tard.. set windows to fully update and boom... SUPER FAST.. i boot in like three seconds now.

FWIW, I beleive pervious benchmarks at what would be a variety of sites pretty much show little difference whether you use IDE mode or AHCI.
