Dear MaximumPC,

while I love your magazine, which I have been getting since it was Boot, and I visit your website multiple time daily, the amount of ads that you are pumping through the website are getting so much out of hands, that I am considering abandoning coming to it. It started when you started interspersing ads into articles, so one couldn't tell the articles apart from the ads. But now, I am greeted with not one BUT TWO intro screens (and sometimes the same ones) before I even get to the starting page, AND THEN you give me another when I click on an article.

Now I understand that you are just feeding yourself with the income (and frankly, I can see how you have given up on the magazine because the articles I see in it, which used to appear there first before the website, are now often reprints of what I have already read on the website), but if you are alienating me, who has so far sifted through it all because of loyalty, I think others will be less patient. Look, I took the time to register just to write these two paragraphs. It's Sunday, and I would rather be doing something else, so consider this a serious concern.

Regards.

Dude, quit your complaining, the advertisements are what pay for the web site and the magazine. The website is FREE!!! as in you don't pay a dime to view it. As for the magazine, would you rather pay 3 or four times what the magazine cost now to have no ads? Oh and lets start charging for the website too so we don't have to look at ads. Who cares if you have to click past a couple ads? It's free info!!!

just because the ads pay for the website doesn't mean they have to be that intrusive. Others can manage on less and so can Maximum PC. I don't mind some ads, but if the content gets lost in the ads, that's where my patients starts to wear thin. Plus, this is a section on website feedback, which is what my post was. The website is getting worse, so I posted the comment.

Can we please not drive new members away when they voice their opinions?

While you say 'clicking through ads is no skin off your nose', I say 'reading his opinion is less skin off yours'.

Let the editors respond to this gentleman's concern if you've nothing constructive to add to the conversation.

It's so hard to spot Smurf accounts....

Don't you have a magazine to save?

I'd complain about the necropost .. but the forum needs the traffic.

Now the front page fades out and a full page ad fades in... If you all don't want people to use ad blocking software, try using some common sense and stop with the intrusive full page pop-up ads.

I've been here since "Boot"... I hate the ad's, they are obnoxious.

People will give $$ if asked to do so, like have a "DONATE" button or something. Get rid of the ad's!

DOH!!! :x

Please disregard my last comment... I had a pop-up program installed that only affected FF and I fixed it and the pop ups that I was getting here REALLY BAD and only here, disappeared. I thought that this is what you guys were talking about, it was not.

I feel stupid. Sorry. The ad's are not so bad, IMO. I'm an idiot. Carry on.
