Hi, I just received the Oct. 2012 of MaximumPC and see you have a sidebar on "Free Premium TV is finally Here! When I try to go to http://www.getfreetvservice.com it just keeps saying it cannot find that website. Any ideas on what's going on? I'd sure like to drop my cabel provider as they really screw us Alaskans over when it comes to their services. Thanks, John

it must be you, your link worked just fine for me. this is where it sent me http://www.itvmediaplayer.com/referred/ but its not really free, there is an up front one time charge of 24.99 for their software.

After reading the latest issue and read that article, i decided to trust in maximum pc and buy the program.
What a mistake this was. This is a complete scam. No more no less. I decided to buy it mainly for food network at first, but when you click on the channel guide on the food channel button, it sends you straight to the channel's website. I tried many more channels, but the same result occurred. It all sends me to the channel's website. Free tv is limited to channels that already broadcast online for free.
And to top it all off, there is no refund. unless you bought a physical disk and it was damaged, they won't give you back your money if you're not satisfied. I tried going to their forum and asking for an explanation and if i was just doing it wrong, to explain to me how to access the channels. My thread was deleted within 5 minutes with no explanation and i was promptly banned from posting anymore.
I did not post anything offensive, remained civil and courteous.

Falling victim to a scam because i did not do any research beforehand, i can tolerate, it's my own fault. However, falling victim to a scam because i followed an article in a magazine i love and trust? I'm sorry, i'm upset by that. I hope that maximum pc can warn potential victims in their next issue.
