This really isn't a Windows question, but more a Microsoft policy question....
I'm getting a new laptop, and want to move my MS programs to the new machine (re-install them on that machine after I remove them from the old machine). Does anyone know if this is acceptable for Microsoft? I know they only allow one copy to be installed at a time, but is this method still legal since I'll have to reactivate on the new PC anyway? (They use to allow this, but I haven't paid much attention to their changes over the past few years since i wasn't changing machines that much--and since most machines I've had from work have had the software already installed on them in the first place).
The OS is staying on the old laptop, and I'll get a new copy with the new. What I'm concerned about is MS Office 2010 and Visio, which were purchased independently of the laptop.
I'd like to NOT buy another copy of Visio since it's almost $500 per copy. I think I may have one more install left for MS Office, though, which came as a family 3-pack for multiple machines.
