I know I've read in the past that MPC re-tests its Zero Point Machine with every comparison; and because of this, the test results vary from test to test. I get that.

But I don't get the massive differences I saw on the Zero Point benchmarks when I compared p69 to p74 (of the March 2012 issue). It may not look pretty, but below is a comparison of the benchmarks (REMEMBER: These are each for the Zero Point Machine):

................................p69..........p74
Vegas Pro (sec).............3049........1710
Lightroom 2.6 (sec)........356..........234
ProShow 4 (sec)............1112........728
MainConcept 1.6 (sec)....2113.........1265
STALKER:CoP (fps)........42.0..........101.0
Far Cry 2 (fps).............114.4........200.0

What would cause the huge swing? In my mind, I can explain the fps variances because of monitor settings - but the other benchmarks?

I appreciate your feed back.

The numbers listed on pg. 69 are correct, and are the same numbers used for the zero-point machine in other issues. Unfortunately, different numbers were incorrectly inserted instead of the normal zero-point numbers. But the benchmark graphs correctly show the difference the iBuypower Erebus and the zero-point machine.. i.e. zero-point Vegas Pro number is 3,049.. the Erebus number is 1,730.. the graph has the Erebus winning by around 75%.. 3,049 divided by 1,730 = 1.76 or a 76% increase over the zero-point. The graphs correctly show the Erebus being faster in all the benchmarks, it is just the incorrect zero-point numbers were listed.
