Hihi

Just adding to my research...

Are there any slim laptops (mobility - 14inch or less, ultra slim, weight) out on the market yet? Compatible for photoshop high-res painting without brush lag, as well as playing Chrome store gaming, like Bastion, as well as World of Warcraft or Rift (old dx9 gaming)?

I plan to do presentations with live Unity3d demonstrations too.

If not, I'll just wait for next fiscal year for tech to catch up..

Many thanks for any recommendations.

There are plenty of slim laptops. You have ultrabooks, ultraportables, and well, laptops that trim as much as they can to save size. But since you're looking for performance, your options are very limited to basically either a Macbook Pro 15", Sony Vaio (I forget which one), or a Dell XPS 15z.

There might be others, notably from ASUS, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

You're also asking for something that's very rare. So if you don't like your options, then you're going to have to loosen your requirements.

gah... that recommendation for the macbooks were excellent thank you.. just that i still can't bring myself to paying that kind of premium just for the mac lifestyle over a pc book, same powerhouse same benefits same get the job done..

the june 2012 retina macbook is almost like the ultrabook ive been waiting for.. i still want a 14inch or less form factor, with at the minimum 8gb of ram and a quadcore chip, weighs less than 4pounds. the resolution and ips panel is all nice and dandy but not a deal breaker.

the price points at the moment just are too much muddled with tablets and ultrabooks, no clear one up over the other yet as far as i am concerned.
guess it'll have to wait til next year, thanks for the recommendations :)
