Hello Guys,
I recently purchased a evga gtx ftw 670 from newegg last month, i recieved the card a week later, installed and downloaded the most up to date drivers. I then restarted the system, loaded windows to desktop then Red Screen, I called tech support they gave me a RMA. Today, I recieved my replacement card, installed it booted up windows red screen again... Im running no gpu monitoring software.

My spec as is follows

Red screen as in the screen is tinted red?

I suppose you've checked the cable/monitor?

Why didn't you download/install the drivers that came with the card. THEN update to the latest drivers.

I haven't needed to update the drivers on my card forever. I think the mistake was not doing what you were supposed to and installing the drivers that came on the cd that came with the vid card.

Did you:

Uninstall the old driver first, say no to reboot then delete the video driver folder and empty the recycle bin?

Download, install and run the registry section of Ccleaner? That will clean out any entries left over by uninstalling the old driver.

Reboot, cancel the pop-ups, then install the new driver?

If you didn't that may be why the driver is corrupt and has a red tint to it.

Nasty

Just a few simple questions first

what were you running before this card?
do you have a power supply able to handle a card like this?
if you have some craptastic PSU that came with a 30 dollar case, I would check into that.
Were you running on board video and put a card in? Did you make sure the PCI-E slot was clean of dust and debris? you would be amazed at the crap I have cleaned out of systems. IF you had on board running before you may need to hit the cmos and make sure its set to auto to detect if you have a card or want to run on board.
There are lots of things that can go wrong and you really need to give a better idea of your situation.
When you go back to what ever your video source was before does the system run properly?
I'm going to assume it does. This would rule out bad video cable connections or bent pins?

Seriously, any nvidia driver would get minimal function out of that card. I'm personally leaning towards your power supply as insufficient power to run this card.
I had that happen to me when I went from dual GTX 260 OC's to dual 570s
looked like the same amount of power needed but the PC Power an Cooling 750 choked on it. Had to step up my game to a top tier power supply.

I would certainly think that the corsair 1050 psu that he posted he was running would be sufficient to run two of those cards let alone just one. I also wonder what he was running before.
