Allright. For a while now, neither WMP 11 or Winamp can display the video in a video file. The audio plays, but i just get a black screen in the programs. It's very frustrating...

Also, i've downloaded the K-Lite coded pack, and people have been claiming that is most likely to fix it. But it hasn't, unfortunately. :(

What else can i do? I can't find hardware accel options in WMP. Don't know where they are.

The first thing I would try is uninstalling ALL codec packs you can. Codec packs can intermingle and screw up everything because the video player isn't sure what to do.

I'm going on a whim and assume since you're using WMP11, you're on XP. If you go to Display Properties (right click somewhere on the desktop), the "Settings" tab, and click on the "Advanced" button. In here, there'll be a tab called "Troubleshoot". You can decrease the hardware acceleration there.

I'm on Vista. As far as i know, WMP12 is W7 only.

UPDATE: Also, remember, i installed the codecs as a solution. I didn't install them, then start experiencing the problem.

Oh, and before i installed the codecs, forgot to mention; Videos would play extremely fast, AND there was no video.

Now, with the K-Lite codecs, it's just the lack of video.

Screw WMP, never did like it. I run VLC and have never ran into anything I couldn't play.

I wonder if both the problems you are experiencing are related here. Lets try and fix one thing at a time, before jumping off to another, the solution to one might fix one problem yet create another, or the solution could fix both.
