First and foremost, thank you to those who will take the time to respond to my questions and offer advice. I really appreciate the help from the pros!

So I am building a new computer piece-by-piece and I was looking for some critique. My plan is to have an above average performance system that will play most if not all games on ultra settings. I have somewhat of a budget around the $1000-$1300 mark.

CPU
Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz ~$224

GFX
Radeon HD 7850 2GB ~$269

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.as ... 6814150609

*strongly variable here; would consider gfx 570, 560ti, or other; I was reading many posts and this gfx appear to provide performance at a not-so-ridiculous price, then again i don't really know anything about video cards and performance.

MoBo
BIOSTAR TZ77B LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS ~$109

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.as ... 6813138352

PSU
RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-730SS 730W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply ~$69

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.as ... 6817152036

Case
LIAN LI Lancool PC-K58W Black 0.8 mm SECC, Plastic + Mesh ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
~$69

Memory
Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model 996995
~$36
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.as ... 6820226191

Wireless Network Adapter
ASUS PCE-N15 PCI Express 300/300Mbps Transfer/Receive Rate Wireless Adapter ~$32

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.as ... 6833320074

Monitor ~$159
Hannspree By HannsG SL231DPB Glossy Black 23" 5ms Full HD LED BackLight LCD Monitor
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.as ... 6824262012

Concerns:

I really appreciate nice visuals, will this cheap monitor restrict visual performance?
Is there any outstanding compatibility issues beyond my understanding and comprehension?
Is this power supply sub-par? will it presumably ruin my computer over time?
Is this a suitable wireless network adapter for gaming? specifically, D3 and newer generation games.
Will this casing and close proximity of memory cards allow for a Coolmaster 212 evo heatsink and fan?

Good choices on everything except the power supply. To get your true (or more accurate) requirements, we must consult the oracle:

System Type: 1 physical CPU
Motherboard: Regular - Desktop
CPU Socket: Socket LGA 1155
CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K 3300 MHz Sandy Bridge
CPU Utilization (TDP): 90% TDP
RAM: 2 Sticks DDR3 SDRAM
Video Card 1: AMD Radeon HD 7850

ATTENTION: FOR PERSONAL, NON-COMMERCIAL USE ONLY
Regular SATA: 1 HDD
DVD-RW/DVD+RW Drive: 1 Drive
Fans
Regular: 1 Fan 80mm; 1 Fan 92mm; 2 Fans 120mm;
Keyboard and mouse: Yes
System Load: 90 %

Minimum PSU Wattage: 267 Watts
Recommended Wattage: 317 Watts

It's amazing what Ivy & Radeon 7x series can do for your power bill 8)

The 7850 is a great price / performance deal, Nvidia's equal would be the 560ti-448 maybe better performance when OC'd but the power requirement would be higher. Good choice on the board, the Biostar-T's is great performance/quality at that price. Can't really comment on the monitor, aside from other Hanns LED brands at my local microcenter I think they look great and have good reviews so I would probably get one (I currently have an Acer 24"). The Lan-Li, yes the 212 will fit (according to other forum's users and a google search, I tend to use the Cooler Master Elite series, 212 will fit and usually can be had for under $50 shipped).

For your PSU, with the current system you have a 500+ unit would make a great choice and last for years - looking at newegg.ca's current crop of deals...

Rosewill Green Series RG530-S12 530W $55 + $4 shipping
Antec BP550 Plus 550W $60 + $6 shipped

I am sure that raidmax is "so-so" (a mediocre Andyson OEM) but I have heard of that brand / series just flat out going dead after a short time or gotten DOA so I would probably stay away.

If you want the higher watts, then this would be a good pick

Rosewill Green Series RG630-S12 630W $65 + $4 shipping

If you are not sold on rosewill, check out the Hardware Secrets review they gave it really good marks (what sold me on the Rosewill RG series)

cheers

Thank you Rico!

Another question, What are (if any) the disadvantages over using a LED TV over a LED Monitor for gaming?
