I am looking at building a new desktop AMD/ATI. I cannot see the difference between these two boards:
MSI:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813130600

ASUS Sabertooth:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813131736

Is there a difference between the two that I am not seeing or is it just a brand difference?

I also see on newegg the ASUS board is available open box. Are open box motherboards worth the buy? I understand that they probably won't come with the box, but is the divers/cabling/manuals included?

Open box link:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 813131736R

I plan to use it with the AMD FX8150, ATI 6950, and 16Gb of G. Skill Ripjaws @ 1333.
Also, if anyone else has any suggestions to alternate boards, I would just like to keep the 990FX northbridge, but I'm open to any others that have comparable features.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Yeah, the ASUS board has the UEFI BiOS for one thing ( and is a much better board over all ) which make OCing much easier if you choose to do that. Thee amy be some other things such as fan headers ( more ) as well.

Ok, so would you also recommend getting the open box Asus board, or is it just a toss up of actually what comes with the board, so just buy the regular item?

If I remember correctly when I bought my open box mobo it only came with the board.

Its only the mobo for the open box item. If you decide not to go with the open box then I would go with the Sabertooth.
