Version 10.0.2 of Firefox disabled Ant Video Downloader, which I've been using for a few months--with the add-on's tracking features turned off, mind you. Maybe there was a good reason for this, I don't know.

What is the best Flash video downloader around? I have to replace this thing quickly, because I use it almost every day, putting together training videos I find around the Net.

I like the standalone YouTube Downloader http://www.youtubedownloadersite.com/
The basic version is free, reliable, quick, stable, and updated often.
The list of sites that program works for in addition to YouTube is huge. http://www.youtubedownloadersite.com/su ... sites.html

I can’t say it’s the best, but it is free: FreeCorder4.

It will record many web-based videos including YouTube.

It will not, however, record from hulu.com (copyright protection).

Although, I have been impressed with the number of video centric web sites that it will successfully record.

Sites it will not record from are, of course, Hulu and also, veoh.com (they want you to use their own downloader).

However long it takes to ‘buffer’ the video, that is how long it takes to record!

Works with my FireFox 10.0.2!

It’s hard to say which one is the best, but I’m happy to share my favorite tool—Video Download Capture with you. It works fine in any browser, good at saving online flash video and doing some easy edits. It will meet your need in my view, give it a try if you have interest.
