At some point in the future, I plan on buying an inexpensive (<$75) fanless nVidia card. No AMD/ATI cards.
I don't like using integrated video... web pages and video both stutter when running F@H SMP, and time per frame suffers.
I watched Task Manager, and just scrolling web pages in Firefox momentarily takes up to 25% of processor activity.
Keep that up for a while and that adds up.
I don't want a card with a fan because I don't want any more noise. Plus, I'm no gamer.

There's Jaton, PNY, EVGA, Asus, etc.

Any recommendations? Or are they all junk at that price point?

I lean heavily towards EVGA for NVIDIA cards. PNY might be good too, but I dunno. Too much brand loyalty on EVGA for me.

evga still has a 210 with passive cooling for 35.00 and a 8 series card about the same price. three year warranty. that is on their website. most of the other manufacturers use cheaper components, jaton being one. I can't speak from experience since I only buy evga cards now, and have for the last 8 or 10 years. I have had no failures with them, all that I still have going back to the 8800gts still work just like they did out of the box, I have never had to rma an evga card. (fingers crossed) asus has a 1gig 520 available also, fanless, about 50.00, has dx11 if that matters, all the others only have dx10 and 512 of memory. the 520 I have only seen at computer geeks. http://www.geeks.com/products.asp?cat=VCD it is advertised as almost gone, so, they only have a few left.
