Maximum PC

My 6870 isn't displaying HDMI to my HDTV monitor: "Dell Computer" W3201CHD TV - 31 inches.

I've tried a bunch of things using the software suite from AMD.
Tried some settings on the TV itself.

Don't know what else to look for.

Any help would be appreciated =)

Not sure if you where able to read the other thread gho5t but, there is a possibility it could be a driver issue. Coastie65 had some good ideas that might help. viewtopic.php?f=35&t=126044&start=40

In CCC did you go to Digital Panel>HDTV Scaling and check the appropriate box to match your TV?

Does it work with the DVI connector?

Had the same issue with my 6870 but the reason was because of HDCP compatibility.

I bought a new 27 inch samsung LED monitor to replace my 24 inch. My 24 inch had some problems playing blu ray movies but could play. When i plugged in my samsung monitor, no blu ray movies nor HD itunes movies would play at all. I ran the cyberlink blu ray advisor and it said that something wasn't HDCP compatible.

I did some research and realized that my 6870 hdmi port was not HDCP compliant, only the DVI port was. Which doesn't help because my monitor doesn't have a DVI port.

So, for a quick fix until I pick up the 680 in a few months, I picked up a zotec geforce gtx 560 card for now and the HDMI port was HDCP compatible.

I will not be going back to Radeon after this issue.

I don't see how you can blame AMD for your short sightedness. Always read the specs before you buy any product and make sure it does what you want before you buy it. So, this is your fault and not the products. Own up to your faults or you will fail in life.

IMO, it's AMD stupidness for not putting HDCP on the HDMI Port, especially if your connecting it to your TV and want to use your computer to play High Def Movies. the cards like the 6850 & 6870 should have HDCP on both HDMI and DVI. Learned my lesson and sticking to Nvidia for now on.
