As soon as I installed the newest NVidia driver the folding running on my 580GTX failed to run and has not run since.

What happens if you roll back to your previous drivers?

Running the same version for my three GTX480's and haven't ran into any issues.

I am running the new drivers on one of my PC's with a GTX460, so far no issues.

I think thats what im running on a GTX 580 right now with no issues as well. I haven't upgraded any of my other machines though.

I decided to tough it out for a few days without rolling back the driver.
This morning it has suddenly starting folding on the GPU again after days of showing "FAILED". Folding had been paused for a few hours so that I could do "Handbrake" work converting some DVD VOB files to H.264 MPEG 4 videos. I was pleased to see the GPU folding begin again when folding resumed.
Hopefully this work unit will be completed without incident.

Well, I kind of have the same issue, but with different cards. 285.62 was solid as a rock. I went against my own advice and updated to 295.73 (nothing's broke, don't fix it) and can't get a solid run for the life of me. 296.10 do not fix this issue, but retrieving 285.62 from the recycle bin does.

I swept the home that day so this is on GTS250's, 260's, a 460, 470, and 560Ti's. What the 296.10 did get back to life was the single GTX 570 which I just shut off out of frustration. What happens with me is not just WU's not finishing and doing the 24hr timeout, but the driver crashing with just about any video streaming done on them even when not folding.

I haven't had a minute to play with them, but it's just ironic that I'm being shored up by a pair of underpowered AMD cards to keep my PPD from being zero. The ironic part is that AMD drivers are sucky and I can't get nVidia's to do basic functions. The 460 even crashes in Minecraft now...something's wrong with the drivers or the Cuda load. Can't fold trouble free for years with this stuff and point to anything else but what's changed...drivers.

Yes Chumly, I continued to face similar troubles. My GPU folding failures returned and continued unrelentingly. I did not roll back from the version 296.10 drivers, as I probably should have.
But today I believe I found the solution to my GPU folding troubles. I was running Version 7.1.43 of folding Client Control. Early this morning I upgraded to version 7.1.50 and it seems all the issues are resolved. The new version has run though entire GPU and SMP work units, uploaded the finished product and downloaded more. All running smoothly about an hour in to the new batch.

I've had trouble with a few mobos, mostly the x58 class using GPU folding where it failed using the latest clients (as high as 7.1.52) and the newest drivers (296.10). What seemed to be workling in those cases is to use the latest client with rolled-back drivers to the WHQL 286.52 or whichever 286 version it was. Other mobos work just fine with latest drivers and clients.

Reports on FF that NV drivers are causing problems if the monitor is set to go in to power saving mode. The fix was to disable power saving (and use the power button to turn it off when you're done) or revert back to older drivers.
