Which browser is better, in terms of: security, and performance.

I haven't used Chrome very much, except for when testing a websites, and I still feel that Mozilla can use a lot of resources when running more than just a few (3 or so) tabs.

That, and I get asked this question a lot by people....

opinions?

It's a matter of preference. Microsoft says that Firefox is not as secure, but then, they've been trying to kill Firefox for ages. Firefox has the DownlodThemAll! plugin, as well as easier access to plugins for downloading youtube stuff. Chrome is faster on some things, but doesn't have as good legacy support (because it's new) and has a "walled garden" approach to plugins.

I agree with noghiri_x--it's a matter of preference. The funny thing is that, in the past year, both Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome have gone through several version changes in the past year alone (Mozilla was still in version 3.x just a year ago and is now at version 10.0.2!!!!) Of the two, I prefer Google Chrome and recommend it to other people whose computers I service. It seems safer than either Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer for the majority of users, IMHO.

I use both, sometimes simultaneously.

I've pretty much switched to 99% chrome for browsing use. Some plug-ins and web apps will only work in IE still, but its only on rare occasions that I do use it.

i suggest for using chrome for the end user only, and mozilla for the developer coz it gives the more extensions as we compare to chrome

There is a browser that gets more and more market shares: the Google Chrome Browser! And even fellow Firefox fans (like myself) are starting to use Google Chrome recently. But why?

Selecting best browser from Mozilla and Chrome I will go for Mozilla as it is best. It gives good browsing speed and downloading speed while Chrome only gives good browsing speed but poor downloading speed. Mozilla also gives good add-on than Chrome so it is fun using Mozilla.

Security? Performance? If you want both, then neither, what you want is Tor. Truly anonymous browsing.

Running a browser in your actual OS isn't the most secure. Putting it in a VM is.

So right. But then that might mean you'd need to step up your 8GB to keep things smooth.

Not really. I ran Windows Vista and 7 on a laptop with 2GB for memory just fine. And even then I only allocate 4GB for my VMs because I'm not doing anything really intensive. Flash might do you no good though.

Mozilla is better for Security & performance purpose but for fast browsing Chrome is better because sometimes Mozilla get hanged or crashed.
