I have a ASUS P8P67 LE B3 Intel P67 Motherboard and Intel Core i7-2600K with a ASUS PCI 5.1 Channel Sound Card XONAR_DG sound card in my computer, which is in an Azza Solano 1000 case. I get this really irritating buzzing sound that stretches across into the built in driver too. The static ramps up depending on what I am doing (Half Life 2 and Crysis would make most people cry) or when I start transferring data from a flash drive connected by extension to the back panel. I first suspected it to be the onboard audio being onboard audio, so I bought the card, resulting in a little reduction. I also disabled the built in audio through the BIOS too to prevent interference, still no luck.

I'm not stupid, I have reinstalled the drivers and such. I even did a nondestructive repair reinstall of Win7 (for different reasons).

Could it be a bad front panel? I want a smaller case anyways/I can buy an extension cord.

Sounds like there's some interference on your audio channels, probably due to a high powered cable/line near your cables, poorly shielded cables (or none at all), poor quality cables, poor audio connectors or the proximity of another high powered device on your electrical circuit.

Are you saying my power supply?

I don't want to replace it again. (it was buzzing, not over the audio)

So... the buzzing is not coming from the speakers but actually from something inside the case?

Through my audio.
Which comes through my sound card which is connected to my front panel which is connected to a set of headphones(which I have confirmed to be good.)

Then my original reply stands.

You have some sort of interference still. Do you have any high powered devices on the same house hold circuit like a refrigerator? Have you tried the back connectors and not the front panel hud? Have you tried other using another headset or speakers? Are you overclocking at all?

Have you tried to unplug the front panel connector from the motherboard? Use the headphones directly to the sound card (if it has a headphone jack) and see if the noise is still there. This sounds like a typical grounding problem or faulty front panel.

I bought an extension cable, connected it direct to the soundcard and after some messing around in my drivers I have perfect audio.

So I know it's the front panel, but is there anything I can do about it?

not really. Azza isn't exactly top of the line when it comes to cases. You could look at installing a 3.5 or 5.25" panel that has AC97 to add your audio to the front of the case without issues. Most tend to be a usb/card reader box with audio outputs; around the 25-35 price range. Or just rock the extension cable and be happy that it was something simple as that.

You can also replace the front panel with a new one from Azza or look on ebay and see if there are any suppliers that sell the parts for it. But honestly, I'd save up money for a better case.
