I have in the last 2 weeks bought a 1080p Moniter a ASUS ( VS247-1 ) moniter for my pc it has speakers built in well i connected the hdmi cable to my GTX 560 and to the moniter and have been trying to set up the sound now all day, and i have googled articles and all and i have no luck. Was hoping for some help here :).
it shows that i have sound comeing out when i test the moniter but i do not have sound comeing out, I have made sure i have the latest NVidea drivers and i do.
i hooked up some speakers to the onboard Sound card just to see if that worked and it does. Any ideas? Could it be the speakers are just broke on the moniter?

Try turning up the volume from the little icon on your taskbar.
Try turning up the volume on the monitor itself.
Try rebooting.
Do you have the latest nVidia drivers?

Are you sure this thing has speakers? I see no mention of them, and that WOULD explain why you can't get them to work.

EDIT: Further research shows this monitor HAS NO SPEAKERS  Problem solved.
