There is only one chipset driver for my motherboard on the ASUS website, which I'm assuming is what was on my motherboard CD when I installed it. So, yeah I have the latest.

Installed that, the log says its installed the following;

Quote:
Existing packages
AMD Catalyst Install Manager
AMD APP SDK Runtime
HDMI/DP Audio Driver
Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable
Catalyst Registration
AMD Drag and Drop Transcoding
AMD Media Foundation Decoders
AMD VISION Engine Control Center

Packages for install
AMD Catalyst Install Manager
Final Status: Success
Version of Item: 3.0.859.0
Size: 20 Mbytes
AMD SATA AHCI Driver
Final Status: Success
Version of Item: 1.2.001.0321
Size: 1 Mbytes
AMD USB Filter Driver
Final Status: Success
Version of Item: 2.0.5.166

Looks like it didn't install a Chipset Driver? Unless it doesnt mention it in the install log?

The SATA chipset, if I'm not mistaken.
The blue one is the USB chip driver.

Now we know it's not the chipset.

Out of curiosity, what is your Windows install procedure?

I put the disc in, make the BIOS boot from CD/DVD if it doesn't start up automatically. Then I format the hard drive and chose the option to completely install, without any .old files and then let it do its work. Then once its done the first thing I do is put in the motherboard CD and get the ethernet driver and other drivers. I dont bother using the CD that's came with my 6870, I download the latest from AMD website and then go through the process of adding all my programs back. I'm not really sure what else I might of forgot to mention.

That's good form.
This system wouldn't happen to be overclocked in any way, would it?

Just for shear curiosity...is the date set to the current date and time? I had a real issue where flash would not play, and resulted in a black screen, and my date was set 3 years back because I cleared the CMOS, then installed windows, and never corrected the date.

As far as I'm aware nothing is overclocked. I know I haven't done any overclocking, right now I just want to get my system up and running before going in to stuff like that. As of now my system is just using the stock CPU fan.

The time and date are correct yeah. I'm really stumped as to what could be causing the amdkmdap error. The chipset that you linked me to, which I downloaded and installed seems to of worked on fixing my black screen/blue screen problem, although I'll be able to confirm that tomorrow as I dont have college so I will be on the computer most of the day.

Thank you for all the help given to me this far :)
