MaxPC is ignoring this little bit of Google news, hoping the rest of us will, too.

So how do you keep the world's largest snoop from collecting personal and private information as it spreads its tendrils across the Internet? It's going to be impossible to keep track of what they own. Eventually, they'll just own everything, including us.

WE ARE GOOGLE +. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE. YOUR DATA WILL BE ASSIMILATED.

I know I read about this somewhere recently, but I can't find it.

It's related to this.

merge doesn't equal Assimilate... and this only effects people who use all google products with the same account logged on. I have no need to use google+, rarely check my gmail account and watch very little youtube.

And seriously... Apple is way more vicious with your personal info than google will ever be, and they never tell you shit.

That isn't what we're talking about. We're talking about the privacy policy change, not the merger.

I agree about Apple, but I still don't like it.

that article is pretty crappy anyhow, barely talks about the issues at hand. Anyhow, again, still the privacy issues still affects those who use google products all the time with a logged on account. At least they are telling you up front they are making these changes unlike apple who just role them seamlessly into their products and data mine. Besides, google has been data mining for years... its really nothing new.

Shit, phone companies have been doing this for decades even before gps tracking was embedded into phones, they just triangulate your positions and track your location in real time. You have your phone with you all the time so they track your position and see how many people are in a location or how many people traveling on a particular road. Sprint has been selling that information for years with no oversight or revealing the info to its customers (did a case study on this in 06).

The internet is just getting more and more personal now, that's why I stopped doing social media; so much data is getting put on the internet.

No you're not. I'll get rich off of my Aluminum futures, what with the foil usage increasing and that new jet Boeing is making

wow...

its pretty common knowledge that "tin foil" refers to aluminum foil now days; while there was a such thing as tin foil, it was replaced by aluminum in 1910 to fulfill the same purposes of food storage with the added advantages of being more malleable and didn't leave a metallic taste to food. The name just kind of stuck since its easier to say.

That is how you kill a joke with a club that's used on seals.
