More and more I've seen Green Man Gaming as a digital game downloading company, but I'm not sure if I should give them a try.

I noticed they opened their doors in May 2010, but has anyone had any personal experience with the company? Or insight as to whether I should give them a try.

I like Steam - and I really like the fact that they seem to be quasi-teamed up with GMG, but I want to feel comfortable before I start plunking down some cash.

Any comments are greatly appreciated.

Its a very cool setup they got going on over there. Lots of people at Cheapassgamers.com seem to use them whenever stuff goes on sale. I've gotten a few games for free off their site on my account but haven't tried to download the client or games yet. I'm holding out till steam allows for game trading system like GMG does only because steam's infrastructure is way better and much faster.

Also GMG is primarily a Europe company since its based in London, but I think they have servers in US already.

Games are pretty cheap with them. If the game uses Steamworks, they will e-mail you a key. However, if you pre-order a game from them most of the time you won't get any pre-order bonuses unless explicitly stated.

^to my knowledge, they also don't allow you to pre-load for midnight releases. That was a big thing when I was shopping around for BF3 Limited Edition. I ended up buying directly from EA origins for $45 w/ Dead Space 2. One of the better buys when the game came out.

Does EA allow pre-loading? I know GMG Steam games will.

I was able to pre-load Battlefield 3 when it came out.

yes, EA will allow you to preload by 48 hours. But if you buy codes from GMG for origin, to my knowledge of what others said on CAG was that they don't release the cd-key to you until launch day, so you couldn't preload on origin if you bought through GMG. Not sure how true this is.
