It's a giveaway that is going to make a lot of people be interested in buying games, but nonetheless.... What would you do if you won the grand prize? stock up on food and spend the whole winter playing games?

More like the next 5 years. Is is "To Date" or "For All Time"?
If it's "For All Time" then I would buy a new gaming PC and become a hermit with a T1.

honestly, all the steam sales have been bland at best. I have most of the games that matter anyhow and they've had more deals on crappy indy casual games then regular, plus all of the combo/pack prices are the same as what they offered for the last three big sales event. At this point, the only thing that would excite me is MW3 for $5.

MW3 was 15 yesterday. I haven't looked up today's price, though, and probably won't. I have stuff to do today.

that was MW2... and no way in hell MW3 will be below $50 for the next year. They are greedy bastards.

that is about the truth, even over a year old black ops after mw3 came out, was still 59 bucks. I waited for a half off sale at steam myself. and i have picked up a few other titles at deep discounts from them as well. there are only so many titles that I would play to begin with. as an adult, who needs 800 games for 8 year olds.

I have enough trouble figuring out how to get through my current backlog of games on Steam. If I were to suddenly have its entire library, I just don't know what I'd do. >_<

Yep, I am already stocked up and playing games. Retired and built a gaming rig and I'm good to go ( not to mention a PS2 & PS3 ). :D

I was thinking about this the other day when I read Valve's Steam Platform Surges to 40 Million User Accounts, 1,800 Games in 2011
Those are some impressive numbers but I was wondering of all the money they are making how much is from indie games that will run on any computer and how many of them require a nice rig+? (thinking about this while thinking about the developers who don't want to make a PC worthy game and would rather go with a "close enough" mainstream console game and a PC port)

At this point I would be happy with 1st or 2nd place! 1 game alone would last me 6 months to a year playing in solely.

I just wish steam would allow for an in game trading system like greenman gaming.

yea i dunno guys...

i play MW3 alot..usually "kill confirm"

i usually rank first or second every match, but we all have our days.

i have most of my graphics set in the Nvidia control panel along with everything maxed out ingame."V sync off"

i am running SLI 16Qx on GTX 460 Twin FrozrII's SLI with a i7 930@4.00GHZ..12 gigs of ballistix tracer ram 80 gig Intel SSD.

my game runs smooth as silk.

Honestly i never really had any problems running any COD game with any pc ive owned..whether it be OEM or a DYI system...which i am currently running.

What does this have to do with the steam giveaway that ended last month?

I'm going to categorize that as "taxes"... or the chewbacca defense... or the glove doesn't fit...

I would rather categorize it as finger slippage or the Ray Charles effect but what do I know, lol.
