Anyone have a recommendation for a good password protection software? I'm currently using Identity Safe, which is part of NIS. I'm interested in software that is stand alone, rather than part of a interent security suite.

I'm not sure what's the acurate software you really need, but there are really many kinds of softwre could help with your problem, the keylogger, or the spy software all of them could do the password protection, you could just google them, hope this could help you!

You might also want to have a look at Truecrypt.

It is free, standalone, and can do a lot more than just keep a list of passwords safe.

um... what? Keyloggers? Aren't those called "Spyware"?
And the OP hasn't been back for almost two months. I'd classify this thread as a waste of time.

I suggest you to use ms dos batch file for this here is the code i am attaching

Code:
cls
@ECHO OFF
title Folder Confidential
if EXIST "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}" goto UNLOCK
if NOT EXIST Confidential goto MDLOCKER
:CONFIRM
echo Are you sure you want to lock the folder(Y/N)
set/p "cho=>"
if %cho%==Y goto LOCK
if %cho%==y goto LOCK
if %cho%==n goto END
if %cho%==N goto END
echo Invalid choice.
goto CONFIRM
:LOCK
ren Confidential "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"
attrib +h +s "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"
echo Folder locked
goto End
:UNLOCK
echo Enter the Password to unlock folder
set/p "pass=>"
if NOT %pass%== Replace this portion with your password goto FAIL
attrib -h -s "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"
ren "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}" Confidential
echo Folder Unlocked successfully
goto End
:FAIL
echo Invalid password
goto end
:MDLOCKER
md confidential
echo Confidential created successfully

As far as I can tell, it hides the folder as a godmode link. Here's the problem: It's not really encrypted or very secure. The average person will ignore it, but a cracker will know of this trick and open it. It's easily undone even without the password.

Better idea: Use the godmode trick to hide a Truecrypt volume.

This looks like a Truecrypt clone...
Truecrypt is better, and offers more forms of encryption.

OP hasn't been back for 2 months... it's a moot point.
