So, looking for a new motherboard and I seem to remember that a particular brand has very user friendly interface. Meaning, rather than codes and such, any messages are plain english and easy to understand.

I am thinking this is ASUS. Am I correct? Or something else?

Thanks
Tony

Asus, Asrock and MSi boards use UEFI bios, which is nice to change hardware settings since its a GUI.

Asus has a "Post voice" telling you the post was good or what error has occurred. It must be turned on in the bios.

As far as I know all the UEFI interfaces still inexplicably mimic a BIOS menu. Anyone know different? One of the "advantages" of UEFI was supposed to be a graphical interface...it is present but mimicking a BIOS is silly. It would at least be kind to allow a user to choose between a BIOS appearance and what the mfg.'s creative UEFI programmers think would make a good user interface.

You can now make changes in the EFI by using a mouse...just like in windows...LOL.

Ya, UEFI is not it. Sure, you can use a mouse...but you're still at the will of the writer to interpret the code. Not to you, the OP, but in general: If a BIOS is too tough to navigate, a mouse won't help you.

A BIOS should be simple or it's not Basic..."B". Selection should be complicated, but not the verbiage. Evan standard BIOS on good boards have standard side bars to explain the settings. You pay more for the complicated BIOS abilities, but not the verbiage. This isn't point and click, this is understanding of what's in the BIOS in general and what it all means. Use to have a great set of FAQ in this in the OC section about all that mystical stuff. *delete*
