Maximum PC

I have just completed my rebuild on a gaming system:
Asus Sabertooth MB with AMD am3+ 6 core 1100t processor, 8 GB DDR3, 120GB SSD boot drive, 300 GB Velociraptor Data drive, EVGA GTX570 Nvidia Graphics card, and a 850w Power supply to run it all. After setting everything up and loading Win7 64bit, I noticed (via Coretemp) that my processors were going from desktop(no load) temp of 28c up to about 52c under moderate gaming conditions. By moderate I mean running default game settings(Star Trek Online, Champions Online, and X3:Terran Conflict Benchmark). I thought this was rather high and the first time using an included stock cooler that I've felt I needed more cooling. So I have installed a Corsair H60 water cooling kit for the CPU that I found on sale for $50 and added a 3rd 120mm fan. I have been running all my games at the highest graphics settings and bumped them up to my desktop resolution (1440x960), and the maximum temperature recored now has been 48c. Ambient room temperature is 22c. I'm not overclocking, nor do I desire to, but this still seems a bit warm to me. I thought this would be a good forum to get some other folks with some AM3+ heat experience. Thanks for the feedback in advance.

I can only say that those temps seem pretty typical for that make of processor, even if being cooled by an H60. I have experience with only the X2 and X4 phenom cpu's personally, But I wouldn't be worrying about anything for awhile at those temps. No damage is being done at 52C. If you want to down the temps a few degrees more, just apply a higher grade thermal paste, OR add an additional 120mm fan to the radiator so that BOTH sides of the h60 radiator are working together to create a "push and pull" airflow.

yeah, that's pretty damn cool... considering you have up to 100C before breaking the max barrier.
