The geek in my really loves this, I'm gonna test a server the whole of December before I put it into production and naturally WHAT do I test first? :D

So this weekend I'm gonna run FAH like never before and it looks like this baby really like to crunch those numbers.

Ill keep updating the post when more results are done, the first core I got was a regular one but hey at least it dont take long before I get another core to play with! :D

Still no bigadv love... :/
I'm on my eight core now since Ive started 12 hours ago, I guess there is no way to get a bigadv other than by chance?

I guess this backs up some of what 7im was saying in the other thread about the BigAdv changes and why they are doing them. I don't know what it takes to make more WUs. I thought it was an algorithm that made new ones within a project, but maybe there is more to it. :?

This kind of feels like a "waste", sitting with all this horsepower and folding regular WU. Still I have only gotten normal WU and sure it crunch those units fast I think the machines potential is not reached with a regular unit. Tomorrow I will commence some other testing and I'm afraid I wont be able to test a bigadv work unit because I dont seem to get one.

However I will resume folding in maybe two weeks to let it "burn-in" but so far no bigadv WU for me, does anyone gets them at all?

When the new 12+ WU appears I make sure to book the server for testing but I would really like to see how it folds those "old" bigadv WU.

Maybe this is one of the reasons they are moving bigadv to 12+ machines simply because its similar to use a Lamborghini on a dritroad, it moves forward but you dont use its potential?

I have HEARD that using the -bigbeta gets you a few more of the larger units. Im not sure if thats true or not as I have not folded a bigadv for awhile but I remember reading that.

seem like the faster machines are not idling at all on smp units, well over 100,000ppd does not seem like an idle to me.

yes im not complaining but i cant help thinking if it would perform even better on bigadv WU? There must be a reason they want bigadv WU on very fast and large machines other than speed? maybe they are optimized for many cores?

I can only think that with a bigadv unit you should be making double the smp pointage. I was just looking at Fergity's stats and see that he has been consistently getting bigadv units.

I try to resume when all other testing are done and then I will let it fold for the rest of the year. When the new bigadv appears (I guess i will see it here in the forum) I will make sure to do some more testing :)
