had to move to Co. since i was forced into retirement, and the economy closed more than half the shops in the area down. hard to find a cabinetmaking job in a down economy. and three and a half years unemployed ate up all my cash, being 65 wasn't a help either, it was to expensive to stay in Ca. but I can manage out here in the country.

What part of Co. are you? I know the economy sucks....been coming across a lot of people on hard times lately....hate to hear that about you bro

out on the plains, Merino, about 100 miles north east of Denver, little town about 400 people. and I mean little, has a Louisiana style restaurant, a craft store that sells beer on the side, and a beauty shop, open 4 days a week. Oh they have Wisdom manufacturing, they make most of the carnival rides for those that are still in that business.

nearest real town is about 15 miles, maybe 7500 people, county seat, has a walmart that put almost all the bigger local stores out of business years ago, even the safeway. so a 30 mile drive to and from to get gas. worth it I guess, rent and all utilities are about 500 a month, less than half of my rent alone in Ca.

naw, I lived here for 8 years, years ago, after I got out of the Army in the 60s, my ex was from here, I used to work with her dad before I met her, and moved back to Ca. in fact Scott was born here (In Sterling, the town of 7500) now I am renting from my ex sister in law, that has a modular home that her and her other sister bought and set up on dads property.

One of the sisters got married and moved out, the other was living alone in a three bedroom and the money helped. the old man is 88 and retired this year for health reasons. scott helps take care of him now since he has trouble taking care of himself. so it works out I guess.
