Texinga here from over at the EVGA Forums. Just wanted to let you know that I'm very sorry to hear this news and that I will keep Rose and Gordon in my prayers. I would also like to join the Fold-a-thon for Rose in a few days when I can free up some equipment. If someone can PM me the key or point me somewhere, I'd appreciate it. We are one huge Folding community and heart is here with you.

For clarification:

Is 10 Million the marathon goal?

It is a symbolic goal. One of our teammates recalled Gordon saying once that he knew everyone on the team with 10mil folded for MaxPC. Some of us will probably linger a little longer.

Whether it's 1 WU or a million points, all contributions are appreciated. 8)

I've added my 2600k@4.2 GHz into the mix with -bigadv.

I did it from here at work and will check it when I get home.

I wish I were in on this but here in the northeast we got sucker punched with a killer snowstorm.

no power here, and they need to replace 4 snapped telephone poles just to get power to our one house, so Im sure its going to be another 5-7 days before they get around to us.

till then its generator power for heat, water and fridge, not enough power for folding. we only run the computer for a couple hours a day as it is. have wireless EVDO internet (3G off the cell towers), so at least theres that.

but Im there in spirit.

I gotta say, folks - the overwhelming response to this thread brings tears to my eyes.

You all are contributing at such a high rate that Mutsu's Early Warning Radar for the Weekly 4M Thread didn't even pick up on "Rose's" meteoric rise in the stats. I don't think that's ever happened before - not even for the Chimp Challenge.

Makes me proud to be one of the 7 Billion of us humans, and even makes me think there's hope for all of us.

FOLD ON!!!

A few of us from the NCIX Forum Folding Team are switching over some clients as well. I eagerly look forward to the day when we no longer hear this kind of terrible news. Our thoughts and wishes are with the Smitheman family!

I've now, finally, been able to switch 2 smp clients over to "Rose" for a grand total of 45,000-ish ppd.

I know of a few more HWCers that joined too.

If timing permits it, I believe 'Rose' may see the 1M ppd mark.

Fold on.

Well I just finished installing my watercooling gear. Took a solid 9 hours but I got there in the end. I posted a thread about it in the modders section if your interested.
Anyways now to put this stuff to the test by folding for Rose!
