Maximum PC

I wasn't able to find much doing a search in Google, and searching on these forums. Basically what I need is a program similar to GIMP, that has much more to it as far as creating 3d wallpapers. I would like to start making 3d desktop wallpapers...along the same lines as digital blasphemy. I see some of the programs he(Digital Blasphemy artist) uses, however before I get those programs or start learning about them, I'd like to know if anyone has used them and/or recommends them.

You can look into a software program called Bryce 7. It allows the making of great-looking 3D wallpaper. Go to their website and check out the video tutorial. Hope this helps ya out.
