Forgive me if this is a stupid question (it's my first post), but is there any cooling advantage to creating a 120mm intake opening (port) on the side of my Dell studio xps 9100? The port would open directly to the factory intake for the cpu cooling fan. It seems to me that this would allow unrestricted air flow to the cpu fan. I realize that there may be issues with more dust getting to the cpu; but since there are no easy liquid cooling options, I was trying to think of a way to get more/cooler air to the cpu.

I thought about creating a blow hole on top, but the plastic on the case top makes that a difficult proposition. I'm willing to give up fan noise for better cooling.
