I was running 12GB (6x2GB) of DDR3 Triple Channel RAM on my ASUS Rampage III Gene motherboard, until i got my 3rd kit of 8GB (2x4GB) today in the mail. I had bought 2 more of this particular kit (
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820145315 ) early on, and i was using it for my spare AMD build PC. the 8GB kits i bought are DDR3, but Dual Channel. so i removed my 12GB of DDR3 and inserted all 24GB (6x4GB) and started my computer.
things were working well, but the motherboard only is reading 16GB, not 24. the motherboard can handle up to 24GB of RAM, but i want to know if its 24GB of Triple Channel RAM, not DUAL Channel.

Installed 24GB, 16GB working, DDR3 Dual Channel RAM, 1333MHz
I have tried shuffling the ram around to each of the RAM slots, but it still reads 16GB. I am trying to keep the pair together, because its a new kit, and i know that the other 4RAM sticks are good, since they came off of my spare PC. I was looking at BIOS up[dates, but the updating software is not for my version of windows 7
