hi, recently i just completed a new build and 2 random quirks have been nagging at me. theyre not anything bad; no crashes, no freezes ect...anyways the 1st quirk is that whenever reboot the pc, nvidia drivers 280.26 crash then instantly restart. i dont know why and ive even tried older drivers. same deal. the 2nd quirk is that whenever i wake the pc from sleep mode, my wireless adapter isnt recognized. i have to unplug it and reinsert it into the usb slot and itll work. once again, no clue, ive reinstalled drivers and never had this problem with previous builds. not that big of deal but id like to fix it.

build is
i5 2400
asus p8h67 pro/csm
seagate 7200.12 1tb
evga 460 gtx
crucial 8gb ddr3 1333
antec hcg 520w
netgear wna1100 wireless adapter
win7 pro 64

thx for any help :D

I'm no expert but, I've never had a pc run right with it in sleep mode. It might run ok for a while, but eventually weird things happen. I'd just never let it sleep. A sleeping monitor seems to be fine but anything else, forget it.

As usual, make sure you're using the right drivers. Uninstall what you have, then install them again. Make sure your antivirus and other programs are not running when you install them.

Would have been nice to know make and model of your PSU.

That isa USB wifi dongle so Wake on LAN and Wake on USB can be involved. And as the link above indicates a lot of things are involved in successfully putting a PC to sleep and waking it backup.

You've already done some smart things including update the wifi driver. (2.0.0.57?)

Were it me, I would install the latest chipset driver. Make sure the Win7 is up to date. Then explore the wifi driver options (usually advanced tab) and USB hub options (in device manager) for power settings, as well as update the BIOS to the most recent and explorer BIOS settings for wake. I am guessing your USB port is not properly signaling wakeup. You can try other ports.

FascistNation, the OP did specify his PSU: Antec HCG 520W.
