When I was stationed in Hawaii from '95 - '98, I used to have AOL. I played this really cool war game on there and I can't seem to find the name to see if it was still around or improved at all. It was free to play and became pretty well known on it.

It had tanks and airplanes set in WWII era I think. Some of the tanks had anti-air guns on them so two people would use them, one driver and one in the gunner seat. There were also fighter planes and bombers. The bombers had a nose gunner, tail gunner and a gunner underneath. It was a very fun team based game. The object was to destroy the other teams hanger and base. Games would last for hours sometimes.

Anyone have any ideas?

Was it Battle Teck: Solaris?

I played a game on AOL in that time frame too. I don't know if it was this one or another they had for free. I got hooked on gaming right then and there!

In 69-70 I was stationed in Hawaii on Schofield Barricks 25 infantry division/ Troop H 10th Calv right near Kole-Kole pass. At that time I wrenched M60 tanks, M114 troupe carriers and M113 scout tanks...before that I was in the 9th stomping bugs.

I never got charged by the minute or hour while gaming on AOL! I just paid for Unlimited access and that was it.

No Nasty, that sounds too futuristic. This was definitely an old school like WWI or WWII based game.

Schofield Barricks...I remember exactly where that was at. Man, I miss Hawaii.

It almost sounds like your describing WWII online but that came out in 2001. The only WWII MP game with vehicles that I can think of that is that old is Codename Eagle. Are we talking FPS here or something else?

Nope, no FPS. It was an online war game with tanks, bombers, and planes. That was it. No shooting rifles or machines guns. Just bombs, tank shell, and gun shells from planes and bombers.

In this game did you have to call in for supplies and an airplane dropped them on your location?

No, not that I recall. I'm pretty sure no.
