Maximum PC

I find myself in need of a desktop replacement PC notebook for photoshop work.

Fortunately, because of my workflow I can survive w/ a screen that only covers sRGB, but of course would prefer higher. So an NTSC gamut percentage in the mid 70's is the minimum.
My choices are also limited by a need to keep the price under $1500.

I know there are many 15.6" w/ higher gamuts (even Dell offers one) but I am looking for a 17" and I am having difficulty finding reliable specs on this. That detail is rarely listed.
I have found a few review sites that offer detailed graphs on panel color space reproduction but most of the models I'm interested in have not been reviewed.

Does anyone know of place that has comparisons for this?

The way I see it, you'd need to find out who manufactured the LCD screen for the laptop reseller. Then you'd need to contact them for a cutsheet for that LCD screen and see if they list the spec on there.


The only thing I can tell you if you don't want track down the cutsheet, look for laptops with LED backlights over the cold cathode backlights. On average the NTSC color gamut for an LED backlight is well over your mid 70s minimum.
