A local college offers this program and I'd be interested in taking it if I would be qualified for employment afterward. I have had no prior computer classes, certifications, etc. I am a radiographer looking to change careers (though I consider myself somewhat tech savvy, I can build my own PC, setup a home network, etc.).

Here is a link to the college and another describing what the academy is about:

I went to an open house at the college, but I wasn't able to get many questions answered. I was only able to speak with one college rep and there were no instructors there. The course is two nights per week and 16 weeks long.

Can someone please tell me if after a course like this I'd be qualified for employment? Any insight to roughly what my salary expectations would be in the North New Jersey area?

Below is a link to another course I was considering, any input on that would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not sure what the last link is about because it doesn't work, but the first two links you listed are preparation courses for the CCNA (which is a Cisco certification).

I would strongly recommend you not take this course. This course (at least from the first two links) is designed to prepare you for the CCNA, not to get a job.

Depending on how much time you want to put into this. I think the easiest way would be to get an associates in some type of networking. Then from there, you can either transfer to a four year university and finish with a BS in some type of computing field or try to get a job with just the associates.

But if you take nothing else, stay away from certification preperation classes. You won't be any more employable than when you started.

Thanks for the info, hackman2007. The last link that didn't work was for a certificate program (two semesters) at a community college. They also offer two computer related Associates. Would you mind taking a look at the links below and telling me what you think? Thanks.
