I've wanted to do a tech news podcast for a while, but can never find people to do it with who are intelligent enough to talk with. Oftentimes when I'm listening tot he Maximum PC podcast I feel like I could provide a unique point of view to the discussion, or help Gordon argue about how things are dumb. Sometime when you're missing a few editors let me get in on this pod-casting action.

You're welcome to call in and leave a message with a topic of conversation. Or a mini-rant or something. 877 404 1337 x 1337.

To brag on myself, I've had the occasional voicemail played on the occasional podcast.

Tips:
Don't write it down word for word, but write a cocktail napkin version with the specifics like product numbers.
Call from a good quality land line phone in a quiet environment
Introductions: Brief, or left out completely.
Get to the point / question without a ton of background information.
Closing: Just hang up, or a simple "Love the Show"

Do you know how many people here are like that and go beyond? I work in IT, I hate Apple, I keep a routine catchup of tech news, and I have a gaming rig, as well. You then have other guys here, who are extremely knowledgeable here on these very forums about a specific part about computing, who can bring a lot of good advice/teachings to the masses. I'm not saying that you don't have a chance in hell, but what separates you from everyone else here? Hell, I remember MaximumPC tried to get on a few freelance writers from MaximumPC to write articles for the website. As far as I know, no one got the position, except maybe this one freelancer I see around from time to time.

Several of our regular members have written for both the magazine and the website, actually, and I've found the editorial staff and writers quite easy to work with. :) Several of our members have ongoing writing positions with the website as well.
