I don't miss the old ways of overclocking at all, but I do like the bios overclockinh tools more than the remote, auto, and application based overclocking tools.

As I stated in a recent post, I'm running my E8400 At 4.16GHz. Not too shabby. But RAM is getting in the way sometimes, and I'm at the minimum 1:1 ratio between RAM and FSB, so about 920MHz on the RAM.

With 2 sticks of RAM, I was able to hit about the 4.3ish mark, but i don't like hitting 75-76C in Prime95. 'Twas nice testing the RAM at 1200MHz, tho. not the mostt stable, but that stuff was plowing through benchmarks. Settled at 1128MHz. Then got 2 more sticks. Each set separately runs at that, but together, I'm hard pressed to hit 920-940 any more.

Time to update my OC info, since my Foxconn Destroyer got here:
Image

And the temps while Prime95 ran in the background (I have gotten them under 60c since then):
Image

AND, my Non-Extreme Edition Pentium 4 is now running at 3.92ghz (up from 3.2ghz stock):

CPU-Z Valid
I have the temps under 50c all the time (Idle or Load, both stay under 50c,
and often under 40c) using only a high-flow case and a Zalman CNPS 7700CU.
Image

Working on the RAM, but will get some high-performance DANK for it soon. :P

Not a bad first crack, with a Hyper 212+ on it, runs about 85 degrees C according to SpeedFan under full load.....

http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1591788

Edit, with a H70 sitting on top of the i7, 80 degrees at 4Ghz....quite nice

Well, after I got home from work this afternoon I found my system blue screened.

I tried upping the voltage a little but continual blue screens.

Had to put it back down to 4.5 GHz.

Phenom II 555 BE 3.2 GHz @ 4.2 GHz on air...haven't run Prime95 or anything on it yet though.

Edit: N/M, had to bump the multiplier back down a notch, it just blue-screened.

Jake, what's the PPD on that?

I have an AM2+ board that can handle the high watt quad core AM3s, and I might give it one last boost.

Sorry it took me FOREVER to get back in here and post, but I have been busy as hell of late.

The PPD is 9,500+ PPD @ 4ghz (4.5ghz on air in southern NM is not advisable and I had to back
off, even with an H70. I will need a full-on loop). But I am about to up the ante because I got
the chip stable at 4.2ghz on air. It is cooking in Prime95 now... 1.5 hours stable. I have heard
that even at just 4ghz, if you run the SMP in a virtual machine, you can push PPD to about 10~12k
PPD! I will try it out and see. Plus, HFM can still track the PPD and TPF for you and spit out the
results into an HTML page which I have synched to my dropbox as a public document like this.

And that's awesome. :P

At any rate, here is my new Validation for SMP-Stable 4.2ghz:

Here we go. Stable on air, but too damn hot to fold on 24/7, but who cares, this is bragging rights, isn't it?. :)
