Hello all

I've been living in Germany since 2006...so I've been out of the loop as far as what different ISP's are reliable. I'm moving back to the States....so, basically, I'm wondering what ISP should I look into in the Augusta, GA area.

Thanks!

From a quick yellow pages search, it looks like you have a choice between Charter, Time Warner, Cox, AT&T, and Qwest.

I would avoid AT&T from personal experience (I've used their wireless phone service and it sucks and I'm guessing the Internet service isn't much better). I'm pretty sure Charter, Time Warner and AT&T have bandwidth caps. But you should go talk to the ISP's themselves and see.

Thanks! That gives me a starting point to research each company

I know this is over 2 weeks old, but I thought I'd throw in my $.02. I was stationed at Ft. Gordon in Augusta, and Comcast is the local cable company. I don't know where you got that info, Hackman. I moved from one side of Ft. Gordon (Augusta) to the other (Evans), and Comcast serviced both. They were great, too. I only had one service call in a year, and that was when my modem-only trap went bad. They were out within 2 days to fix it. Just thought I'd let you know from experience.

The online yellowpages.com website.

Comcast for Cable
Verizon for DSL
Don't bother with any other forms of connectivity.

Those two companies are pretty much your best bet no matter where you are.

If you're lucky enough to have Verizon FiOS available to you then give that a shot and see if it's worth the cost for the higher speeds.
