I'm trying to play Diablo 2. I have a GeForce 260 GTX, which works fine with other games.

I try playing D2 using D3D and it stutters.

Anyone else still playing D2 using a nVIdia card? If so, which drivers are you using?

You may have to set up a profile for the game and slow down video acceleration.

I have a GTX 280 Superclocked and can play D2 fine. I'll check what drivers I'm running when I get home.

8800 GT using drivers from july 2010 no problems. Your machine is almost certainly powerful enough to use the software renderer. Have you tried that?

Yes, but for some reason it takes approximately 20 minutes from the time I open the shortcut for the game to start under software mode.

It may be the cpu and not the video card that is causing the problem. Right click the .exe and set the affinity to one cpu core and run the game.
