Long gone? There are people still alive who were born before television was
invented. Digital media is only a couple of decades old.
Technological change is picking up speed .. not slowing down. I have to disagree with you on this one, bro. Digital is becoming a standard far more quickly than I'd have anticipated.
Finally, a capitalist market survives by making consumers purchase things. The technology will be deprecated within a decade, at most, because it is in the interest of the market to do so.

The glasses aren't the issue. People lacking vision in one eye have no depth-perception. Their day-to-day existence is not viewed in 3D. Any image which tricks a 2D surface into displaying a 3D image, whether it uses glasses or not, is
necessarily going to appear distorted to someone without depth-perception.
