Does anyone know of a software program that you can use to visually plan out relational databases?

What I want to be able to do is visually draw out the tables and show the relationships between the tables and fields in various tables (ie. primary keys, foreign keys, etc).

The program DOES NOT have to write an code, just let me visually design the database (so I don't have to waste paper doing it by hand, for if I make mistakes or changes). The database I'm designing is pretty small (maybe 15-20 tables or less, and each table has an average number of fields of around maybe 5 to 10 fields per each table). By no means is this project an Enterprise-level design.

Suggestions? I would prefer free (or as close to it as possible--no more than $50 cost). Just simply because I don't want to drop a lot of money into a program that I may only use once or twice, and never use again (or not that often).

I've used MySQL workbench a few times.

I use Visio a lot.

I think the Architect / Pro versions have a way to "reverse" engineer a database, so you can use that as a starting point. Then when you are done making changes you can suck them in. I am sure there are other tools but I haven't used them. I usually just use paper actually.

My favorite tool: available anywhere, usually free or you can bum off of someone and is subject to multiple revisions.

I re-use print outs. I have a stash under my monitor that I whip out and draw on the other side, then drop in the recycle bin at my desk.

I'm obsessed with notebooks and pens. I'd love to use recycled paper but when I jot something down, I like to refer to it in later time. Also, a lot of our "scrap" paper at work contain some kind of info on it - and considering HIPAA, I'd like to stay away from either a large fine or jail time, so I use new paper.

Old dot matrix printers. Best paper ever for this kind of thing.

How so? I see that being a colossal pain in the dick...

I'm assuming the rational is that its all connected in one long ribbon. But I also see it being a colossal pain in the dick. That's what whiteboards are for.

I like the fact that it was connected via perforation. Made it easy to have one, long sheet instead of having to tape multiple sheets together. White boards are great, but I find myself constantly erasing stuff. Whiteboards generally don't suit my progression of thinking, so I find myself turning to paper.
