So the corporate office calls and says "we're sending you new 4G aircards..."

Of course I'm totally excited to get better speed, but all the techies out there will be quick to point out it's not real 4G

But seriously who cares it is way the hell faster than the old 3G card I had.

For the record, in all of my testing, driving around the city, the fastest I've seen is 36Mbps down... but the speed test above is about average.

Oh, and 36Mbs down is faster than both my house's and my school's wired internets...

A particularly good location right next to the Verizon source

I think its fast haha, and is the absolute best I can get where I live.
Specially coming from dial up at my house... 28.8 Kbps. You never even hit that rate!
I tried the app on my phone to test 3G. I got .61 Mbps up and .32 down.... And the guy at the store was trying to tell me it was as fast as high speed.
Tried a different server in Calgary.

I tried Corpus Christi as well and got nearly the same as Calgary.

By comparison, the best I've seen on my personal t-mobile "4G" phone is about 6Mbps down, but it also does about 5Mbps up.

This is pretty much the best I got. My phone is sad, so I am not even going to try it lol. Silly Verizon...

EDIT: Tried it again on off-peak hours and the Turboboost dealy kicked into overdrive!

To think I'm only paying for 10MBps!

EDIT I ran the speed test on my phone (Droid 1) and got 112kbps down and 40 up. Garbage! Verizon 3G blows.

I am still waiting for 4G were I live were I can get off of 3G and get onto something that is faster and something alittle bit more stable. I hate that there is no Landline broadband were I live. I am planning to get Sprint 4G because it is WiMAX and unlimited. To be frank when Sprint 4G gets were I live I think Verizon is going to lose customers because they are being so smug with the DSL Lines even though they rate your house for 3Mbps they only give out 1.5Kbps or lower and when someone cancels there DSL they are keeping the DSL Slot close.

I know during the day I get around on average 128Kbps good day 500Kbps but I know Virgin Mobile is changing there unlimited plan from unthrottled and going to a Soft cap for the unlimited plan were after you get to the monthly unthrottle amount of 5GBs after 5GB you get kicked down to 256Kbps but that is better then 46.6Kbps Dial-up. Were i live since I have to share my card we chrow through alot of times 22GBs a month.

my droid tethered in my house. 4 bars 3g.

BTW: in the other test where I reported 1 mb down, that was on a bus. I got 0.03 MB/s up
