I need something to replace limewire for my mother. She really just used it to download ncis episodes as they came out to watch while she waits on the season sets to come on dvd and a few other tv shows, nothing fancy. But she doesnt have the patience or interest to use torrents or whatnot. So whats a good substitute for that?

Torrents is essentially exactly what limewire was. They're both P2P so they both use their users in order to get stuff. If she doesn't like torrents then she's essentially out of luck. There's frostwire which is literally a copy of limewire, but without widespread usage, it's a null program. I use Vuze as a torrenting program and it works quite well with it's built-in search.

SM, you're right.

I have tried using it a few times since they pulled the plug. There even was some sort of hosts-file altering trickery to remove the "automatic phone home updater so we can disable you without asking you", or being able to use old versions without this happening, but now I curiously can't find any details anymore. Plus the gnutella forums have banned my IP, so I can't get help. When I do use LimeWire, I have noticed a lot fewer results than there used to be.

Then I remembered Shareaza. 'Nuff said.
