They don't seem bad, but neither build has a real HDD, but I assume you'd be transferring your current drive over. Maybe a little spendy for a no-storage, no video card, no-OS machine, but you could certainly do worse.

I'd forget the GTX480 and look at either a GTX570 or a Radeon 6970/50 instead. Both will outperform the 480 but use less power and make less noise.

hey bro..

actually on both of my wish list system, it includes a 64 GB SSD drive, thats why the price is higher ( the default was a 500GB sata2 drive).

yea i'll forget about GTX480, I'll prolly wait till summer when GTX580 becomes affordable

Sorry, I meant HDD as in Hard Disk Drive, like platter based storage. That 64GB SSD is about 10% of the amount of storage you'd need to make a real computer. It'll hold Windows and 1-2 programs, no space for music, movies, other games, pictures, etc etc etc.

yea i know what u meant.

But I do want to make my boot drive (win7-64-bit) run on this 64GB SSD + few of my games thats FPS-hungry ( FarCry2, Crysis). 64GB is good enough for these ( win7 + far cry 2 + crysis) and the average read/write is over 220 MB/sec (Mechanical HDD is around 68 - 110 MB/sec.)

Then I'll mount a spare 2TB for my other games (steam, etc) + music + videos :)
