So here it is:

How many watts will an AMD Phenom x4 9850 2.5ghz (The 125-watt version)
draw when overclocked to 3.1ghz (It's maximum stable speed), and at full-bore
usage (Say, Prime95 or F@H)??

It depends on the voltage you pumped into it mostly. At an average voltage for that kind of overclock, power consumption might be as high as 200W or so.

If you just use the cpu overclock function here you should be able to get an idea. As Spartacus said it really depends on your vcore. I threw in 1.4v instead of 1.2 just to see with your oc (again I dont know what v you actually use) and get a wattage of 211.

OK, configured to my system's specs, it says that using a 1.3v overvolt (1.25 stock), with a 600mhz overclock, I should see 184 watts.
Now the questions is, will my Foxconn Destroyer handle that?

It supports a 125~140 watt CPU, but will it handle the full force of running the processor at full bore, overclocked to 3.1ghz, without burning up the v-regs?

hmmmm..

Thanks for both of your help, guys. The board should be here this week - ordered just before the rush and paid extra for shipping. All set and ready to replace my almost-burnt-out Asus; it was not in good shape when I got it, but I have had the Phenom running at 2.0ghz on it to reduce it's impact on the board, which did not support the 125 watt CPU, but only 65~95 watt CPU's. The underclocked proc, even under full load with no voltage change, will only burn 100 watts. So while I should be fine for now, I wanted the 3.0ghz clock so that I can feel somewhat justified running the SMP client on it and it still pay off. I could run it now, but a sngle WU would take 3-6 days depending on size, compared to the 1.5-2 days it takes at 3.1ghz.

Thanks again!
