Has anybody used commercial splitting software on Media Center files? How effective is it?

I can't imagine how a piece of software can determine the difference between a commercial and the regular TV show.

I'll give anything a try at least once. ;)

I'll do a frame by frame examination of the transitions between program and commercial and see how many frames if any get lost in the process.

I'll post back once I have my data.

If you are happy with the software let me know and I'll try and do a writeup for it.

At first glance this is going to be an elaborate process to get things setup.

I guess it depends on how much you want to banish commercials from your saved shows.
