Hi Guys, I'm trying to upgrade my current graphics card from a Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT but I'm having a dilemma picking one out. Any suggestions?

If anyone needs to know current specs are:
AMD Athlom 64 X2 Daul Core Processor 6400+ 3.21 GHz
Ram: 4.0 GB
OS: Windows 7

I would greatly appreciate the help i'm fairly new at this. Thanks in advance

moving this to the proper section....

that platform is pretty old, I would consider saving up for new AM3 setup before putting money down for a GPU

but we need to know a bit more about your needs before we start recommending things

what is your monitor resolution?

what programs are running slow?

what model PSU do you have?

CAD programs and games do not mix well on the same machine.

Yep I agree with Tedster. Video cards that are built for running CAD programs and the like quickly do horrible when it comes to playing games and the same thing applies to video cards that are meant for gaming being used for CAD work. I would recommend building two separate rigs for this purpose although we still need to know your budget. You can share the keyboard, mouse & monitor between the two by using a kvm.

Well I only really use the programs for for school I didn't know there was a difference when it came to that.I do have another machine that runs those programs I just wasnt aware that they didn't mesh well together. My budget is no more than 300$.
