Hey guys, this is going to be my first case build. Currently, my plan it to make a traditional shape. What features are a must have in a computer case? It will be a full tower and will be able to accommodate a water cooling system as well as EVGA SR-2 sized motherboards.

Currently Im looking at two compartments, the top housing all the components, and the bottom housing the powersupply, cable management, and the watercooling pump.

Im looking for suggestions on how many drive bays? 5-1/4? 3-1/2?
I dont plan on it being tool less as that would require more manufactoring that I care to do.
Are cables ever good to be seen (if they are tidy and contribute to the clean look?)

Lian Li's PC-P80R is one source of inspiration for this build. Right now Im just looking for input before I finish the concept design.

Well really that varies depending on the person but IMO it would be:
1)good ventilation
2)cable management
3) layout
Even a water cooled rig needs good air flow and that can be especially so when the radiators are mounted in the case.
As far as the drive bays go... I would say depending on where you want to put the reservoir at a minimum 2-3, 5.25" bays and the 3.5" bays kinda depend on how many HDDs' you plan on having not to mention SSDs if any.
also you would want to think about the orientation of the 3.5" bays as well.
just some thoughts hope that it helps! :)
