I've been waiting for the EVGA version to finally hit stores but still nothing.

In the meantime I've only seen this model come out from Galaxy, Sparkle, MSI, Gigabyte, Zotac and Palit. As far as I know only the Gigabyte and Galaxy ones are still in stock (edit: as I write this my buddy who ordered two of the Gigabyte cards tells me that Newegg's backordered them). Where's the other card manufacturers?!

One very simple question, in hopes of some conversation on this:

WHY?

I just got mine, as soon as I bought them they went out of stock! Lucky me! and note to all the other buyers if you don’t have an SLI bridge they do not come with one so you will have to order it separate.

Unfortunately my machine is a bit older so I think the CPU is bottlenecking..

Specs:
E8400 C0 running at 3.69
Gigabyte EP45-UD3P
G.skill 2x2GB DDR2-1066 5-5-5-15
Win7 Ultimate 64, Aero effects on
Power - Corsair 550VX
Monitor - Samsung 22" (1680x1050)
GPU1 - Sapphire Radeon 4870 512MB @ 750/900 (stock)
GPU2 - EVGA GTX460 1GB @ stock clocks

Got a 2248 on high settings (1080p - window ended up being larger than my screen) using the FFXIV Benchmark, which is about 25 points lower than the 4870 scored.. At Low (720p) settings the scores were identical at 3708.

How about a "why not"? For $225, is there a better option?

I'm trying to figure out the difference between 460 and 465, and which is a better buy.

The 1GB 460 is just about the same as the 465.

This chart lists the tech specs of each card.

The 460 is a better value by far. The 465 is a failure because it's basically a crippled GF100 die yet still uses the same amount of power and puts out similar amounts of heat to the 480. AMD made the same mistake with the Radeon HD 5830.
