I have a video i was tasked with editing. The person who recorded it, had the tripod too tight, so when they moved the camera, it made like a clicking sound from when the tripod would move and stick. I am supposed to try to remove this noise but have soo far been unable to isolate it. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'd take a whack at it in an audio editor, but the link doesn't work.

If you want to eliminate just the tripod noise and leave the rest of the audio intact you'll need more than just a basic audio editor.

I have a program called Goldwave that might be able to do this. The tricky part is how close the unwanted noise is to the rest of the audio since you'll be lowering specific frequencies and anything in those frequencies will be eliminated along with the tripod noise.

If you simply want the audio to be muted during the tripod noise then most audio editors will be able to do this.

Yeah. I can't open the zipped file. It says it's corrupted.

If you can host it someplace else (or else not zip it), I can take a look.

Basically, what I do is use GoldWave. I copy a sample of the noise I want to eliminate and then paste the sample into the Noise Reduction filter. It then eliminates it.

This is also great for eliminating "hum", "clicking", "hiss", etc. from LPs

Subject caught my attention: Removing Sound From Audio Clips.

So if you have an audio clip, and you remove the sound, you would end up with an empty file?? A 0kb size?

I'm just saying...
